Terms of Service

The terms for using Lessual

Effective 30 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Pinachle LLC ("we", "us"), the company that operates Lessual. By signing in to or using Lessual, you agree to them. We have written them to be read, not skimmed past, so please take a few minutes over them.

The short version

1. Who may use Lessual

Lessual is for teachers and others who plan lessons professionally, such as heads of department and student teachers. You must be at least 18 years old. Lessual is not for use by students or children.

If you use Lessual on behalf of a school, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for that use.

2. The pilot

Lessual is in an early pilot. During the pilot:

3. Your account

You sign in with a Google account. Your Lessual account is for you alone, so please do not share it or let others generate plans with it.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you use a shared computer, sign out when you finish. If you think someone else has used your account, tell us straight away.

4. Your data and your device

Lessual stores your classes, students, records and plans in the browser on your device, not on our server. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full. It protects your students' privacy, and it also means:

5. Your responsibilities for student information

You decide what student information to enter into Lessual, and it stays on your device. You are responsible for following your school's rules and the law on student records, including data protection law, as you would with a paper mark book.

Please do not type students' names or other identifying details into lesson plan text, because edited plan text may be sent for generation when you revise a plan or make slides.

6. AI-generated content

Lesson plans, worksheets, activities, quizzes and slides in Lessual are written by an AI model. They are drafts to support your planning, not finished work. In particular:

Lessual is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, approved by or endorsed by Jamaica's Ministry of Education or any other government body.

7. Who owns what

Yours: the information you enter, and the plans and other materials generated for you. To the extent we have any rights in generated material, we give them to you. You may use, change, print and share it in your teaching, including with colleagues.

Ours: Lessual itself, including its software, design, name, the way it organises curriculum material and the instructions it gives the AI model. These terms give you a right to use Lessual, not ownership of it.

Others': the National Standards Curriculum is published by the Ministry of Education. Lessual draws on it to build plans but does not claim to own it.

So that we can run Lessual, you allow us to process what you send for generation in the ways our Privacy Policy describes, and for no other purpose.

8. Acceptable use

Please use Lessual for planning your own teaching. You must not:

9. Fair-use limits

Generating plans has a real cost, so each account has limits on how much it can generate in an hour and in a month. The limits are set well above what a teacher would normally need, so you should never meet them in ordinary teaching. If you do, please tell us. We may adjust the limits, but not in a way that stops ordinary teaching use.

10. Ending your use

You may stop using Lessual at any time, and ask us to delete your account as our Privacy Policy explains.

We may suspend or remove your access if you break these terms, if your account is used in a way that puts Lessual or other teachers at risk, or if your access was given in error. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond first. Your records on your device remain yours in every case.

11. What we do and do not promise

We will run Lessual with reasonable care and skill, and we will handle your data as our Privacy Policy describes.

Beyond that, and because Lessual is in a pilot, it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will always be available, be free of errors, or suit a particular purpose, or that generated content will be accurate or complete.

12. Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows:

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as liability for fraud, or takes away rights you have under consumer or data protection law that cannot be waived by agreement.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, and disputes will be decided by the courts of that State. However, if you live in Jamaica, you keep the protection of any Jamaican law that cannot be excluded by agreement, including data protection law, and you may bring a claim in Jamaica where that law allows.

Before going to court, please write to us. Most problems can be sorted out quickly, and we will try in good faith to do so.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Lessual develops. For a material change, we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you may stop using Lessual before then. Continuing to use it after the change takes effect means you accept the new terms. If we introduce charges, they will need your separate agreement, as section 2 says.

If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Lessual.
